Today we’d like to introduce you to Ron Elliot.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ron. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got my start in the promotions department of Def Jam Records and ventured into filmmaking a few years later. I have worked with industry leaders like Hype Williams and Spike Lee. In 2000, I was a part of the team of the DuArt Film & Video Company that won the Gordon E. Sawyer Academy for Technical Advancement in film.
As supervising producer at Tempo Networks (a subsidiary of MTV at the time), I produced many live concerts as well as some of the networks other TV shows. Thereafter, I spent many years working for various television networks such as A&E, NBC, NYCTV, BET, and VH1.
As a filmmaker, I write, direct, shoot and edit. Within the last few years, my work has earned recognition both in the United States and abroad, including the Newark International Film Festival for Best Feature Film and Cannes Film Festival, in the Short Corner.
Currently, I have a feature film script and just completed a series script, titled Sheep both of which are in the preliminary stages of the filming process. My work crosses and meshes cultural barriers, making it both universal and impactful.
As a filmmaker, I am always writing and pushing my passion projects forward.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have had many people involved in my career and many people who champion my work and cause. I have been fortunate to be surrounded by family and friends who understand my passion, and respect and support my work. It would be difficult to single out any one person because so many people believe in my talent and continue to support my dream in various ways.
